MYA Museum is presenting SCREAM BLACULA SCREAM (1973). It stars William H. Marshall as Blacula and Pam Grier as Lisa Fortier, the young Voodoo Queen. The plot is paper thin, the acting is, with the exception of Marshall, fair to bad, the direction is terrible, and the music is loud. But keep in mind, this was the 1970s and there were few films with a black cast so when a movie, as bad as it was, came out with a large black cast, everyone went to see it. Marshall had trained as a classical actor and sang opera, but he gained recognition and popularity with this series of Blacular: Blacular, Scream Blacular Scream, and Blood Sucker.
